News and Upcoming Events

The City of Kingsburg will be applying for Prop 68 funding which will be distributing $650 million dollars throughout municipalities across California. Applicable projects must involve either the development of a new park, expansion of an existing park, or renovation of an existing park. All projects must create or renovate at least one recreation feature. These recreation features can include, but are not limited to; aquatic centers, amphitheaters, athletic courts, community gardens, recreation centers, dog parks, picnic areas, playgrounds, public art, skate parks, and shade structures. Projects may also include funding of major support amenities such as restrooms, snack bars, parking lots, and landscaping/lighting.

Applicants for the Prop 68 Parks Grant must submit a different application for each project and an applicant can potentially receive multiple grant awards that total more than $8.5 million.

The City will be applying for this grant to seek improvements made to Athwal Park, Heritage Park, Bi-Centennial Park & the Dog Park. The City is also seeking funds for a proposed regional sports complex. There will be several meetings hosted for each of these parks to gather community input and recommendations.
