Community Planning Assistance Team Report

Blue Banner With Yellow Trim

The Community Planning Assistance Team (CPAT), consisting of planning experts from throughout California, came to Kingsburg to help develop a revitalization plan for the downtown corridor. The group participated in a City tour, held one on one workshops, hosted a community input session and provided a number of recommendations to the Council and public as part of their five day stay. Kingsburg was the first recipient in California of the pro bono program.

Initial recommendations include:

  • Improving wayfinding signage
  • Enhancing the existing Swedish theme
  • Promoting mixed-use living spaces in the downtown
  • Creation of a downtown improvement district.

The next steps include working to help implement the recommendations outlined in the final report.
