CITY OF KINGSBURG PRESS RELEASE
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
KINGSBURG AREA SELECTED AS LOCATION FOR NEW T-MOBILE CUSTOMER EXPERIENCE CENTER
April 3, 2019 - T-Mobile US (NASDAQ: TMUS) and Sprint Corporation (NYSE: S) announced that they have chosen the Kingsburg area as the location for their previously-announced Central Valley Customer Experience Center (CEC), pending the close of their merger to become the New T-Mobile. The announcement of the new CEC brings the creation of more than 1,000 new jobs, positioning the New T-Mobile to be one of the largest employers in the area.
The announcement by T-Mobile comes on the heels of renewed and continued economic investment in the Kingsburg community. With over 25 new businesses opening over the last two years, Kingsburg continues to exemplify a location that offers affordable California living, low crime, high quality of life and a relentless effort to support businesses large and small. Kingsburg Mayor Michelle Roman commented, “We are excited to continue our partnership with the New T-Mobile regarding the destination of their new Customer Experience Center. The addition of 1,000 new jobs will bring opportunity to not only residents of Kingsburg, but all of Fresno County. T-Mobile’s commitment to invest provides significant economic benefits to all of the Kingsburg area, and we’re thrilled to be a part of the dialogue.”
According to T-Mobile, the New T-Mobile’s investment in Customer Experience Centers — including previously-announced new locations in the Greater Rochester area of New York and Overland Park, Kansas — and expansion of other existing centers will create up to 5,600 additional American jobs by 2021.
