Kingsburg Fiber is an affordable broadband project that provides residents and the business community with Internet, serviced locally. With faster broadband speeds, lower rates and community focused resources, the Kingsburg Fiber Project's goal is to bring high speed internet to all of Kingsburg.
The City, Kingsburg Media Foundation, and Vast Networks are building the network together. The project includes a build-out of approximately 17 miles of new conduit and fiber optic infrastructure that will provide coverage for all Kingsburg neighborhoods. Once installed, strategically placed access points will allow for high-speed internet access to all homes and businesses via either a Wi-Fi backhaul or direct fiber connection. The 17-mile buildout will connect municipal buildings/facilities, park locations, and provide strategic access for current and future expansion of the system (both in and outside of city limits). The installation of this vital resource will impact our entire population, make Kingsburg more competitive for economic development and job creation, provide reliability for ongoing public safety efforts, and provide a local internet service provider to handle home installations, billing, and customer service.
Construction of the fiber network has begun, with the entire network expected to be completed in 2023.
